Fun da Mental Firearms Training
About
Firearms training provided by a retired police officer (Chris Jensen) with 30 years of providing firearms training to police officers. I also have certifications from USCCA and the NRA. I have a small private range that allows me the latitude to provide training with minimal interruptions. I tech pistol, rifle, and shotgun. My courses cover new shooters to concealed carry and home defense. Pricing is flexible but typically will be as listed below.
Legal Self-Defense - $60- this class covers the universally accepted elements of self defense, the levels of force, the definition of Castle Doctrine and stand your ground. I also cover duty to retreat and factors that determine your level of defensive force. I then cover several specific WA laws that cover firearms use and elements of specific crimes that you could be charged with when having a firearm during a situation.
Firearms safety and fundamentals of shooting - $120. This course covers safety from several angles and numerous situations. I go into detail for all of the following:
1. Stance or Platform (isosceles and Weaver)
2. Grip (mode
two handed, with several variations)
3. Draw / Presentation (5 step)
4. Sight Alignment and Sight Picture
5. Trigger Management (trigger reset)
6. Breathing
7. Follow Through (front sight focus, trigger through reset, and recoil recovery
8. Recovery
Defense shooting fundamentals - $120, During this course, students get introduced to flash sight picture, shooting to stop, don’t look for bullet holes, work the problem, and run the gun. This is all done with a single static target and student movement.
Violent encounters and advanced shooting skills - $140. This class is close-3-5 yards, multiple problems, multiple threats, and lots of handgun manipulations. Everything is from the concealed holster. It challenges the students ideas of fast versus smooth, hits versus accuracy, and actual ability over concepts.
USCCA Instructor Course - $600. This covers teaching concepts, companies expectations, rules, and class structure. This one is two days and the minimum cost is set by USCCA.
