You know the kind of woman we're talking about.
The one who takes on challenges that would send other people running. Who makes difficult decisions, trusts her own judgment, and somehow finds the courage to pursue things other women spend years talking themselves out of.
She's confident. She's capable. And she's one heck of a woman to underestimate.
But here's something you might not know about her.
She wasn't always that woman.
Behind every accomplished woman is a collection of uncomfortable decisions, hard-earned lessons, spectacular mistakes, and moments when she wondered whether she had what it takes.
And sometimes, the biggest turning point in her life came when she decided to do something before she felt remotely ready.
So how does a woman develop genuine self-confidence? How does she learn to trust herself when the stakes are high? And what happens when she discovers she's capable of far more than she ever imagined?
We're bringing five remarkable women together to have that conversation.
Join WGOAA founder Amara Barnes for an unscripted roundtable exploring women's confidence, personal safety, resilience, leadership, and the life-changing decisions that help us become more capable.
Our guests come from very different backgrounds: tactical medicine, law enforcement, extreme sports, competitive shooting, entrepreneurship, and firearms instruction.
They've accomplished some pretty remarkable things. But we're just as interested in who they were before those accomplishments—and what it took to get there.
Trailblazer Firearms Instruction Owner | Competitive Shooter | Match Director | WGOAA Instructor
Virginia Barone knows something about accepting a challenge before you feel completely prepared for it.
An owner at Trailblazer Firearms Instruction, competitive shooter, and match director, Virginia has stepped into leadership responsibilities in the competitive shooting community, including taking charge of IDPA events.
And she didn't necessarily feel ready when those opportunities came along.
But instead of waiting until every doubt disappeared, she stepped forward and began growing into the responsibility.
We'll talk about overcoming self-doubt, stepping into leadership, building confidence through deliberate practice, and discovering what happens when you stop waiting until you're ready.
Tactical Paramedic | Founder of Combat First Aid | WGOAA Instructor
With more than three decades in emergency medical services, Jenn Foreman knows a thing or two about functioning when things go sideways.
A nationally certified paramedic and former tactical medic with the Chelan County Regional SWAT Team, Jenn spent 12 years serving alongside tactical officers and earned the team's Operator of the Year award.
She went on to establish Combat First Aid, developing life-saving education that has reached thousands of law enforcement officers, first responders, and civilians.
But what does that kind of experience teach a woman about trusting herself? How do you build the confidence to make decisions when the stakes are high?
We'll explore competence under pressure, personal responsibility, and the self-trust that comes from knowing you've prepared yourself.
"The Elegant Brute" | Law Enforcement Officer | Defensive Tactics Instructor
Julia Valencia isn't particularly interested in fitting anyone else's definition of what a strong woman should be.
An accomplished law enforcement professional, defensive tactics instructor, and inductee into the USA Martial Arts Hall of Fame, Julia has trained hundreds of police recruits and taught law enforcement and security professionals both domestically and internationally.
She's also a marathon runner and the host of BRAVE, an annual training summit for women in law enforcement.
She's built a career in demanding environments where competence matters, leadership must be earned, and being underestimated comes with the territory.
We'll talk about discipline, resilience, stepping into leadership, and what it takes to become a woman who is both feminine and formidable.
"The Tactical Stylist" | Firearms Educator | Entrepreneur & Former Professional Freeride Mountain Biker
If you've ever wondered what happens when a woman decides that the word "impossible" is up for negotiation, you need to meet Hannah.
Raised on a 2,000-acre ranch in the Colorado Rockies, Hannah developed an early appetite for adventure.
She went on to become a pioneering professional freeride mountain biker—and the first woman to land a backflip on a mountain bike.
She's also a mother, entrepreneur, former life coach and personality strategist, and has held leadership responsibilities in the armed security industry.
Today, as The Tactical Stylist, she helps women approach personal protection without sacrificing their individuality, femininity, or personal style.
But perhaps what's most fascinating about Hannah isn't everything she's accomplished.
It's her willingness to believe she's capable of something difficult—and then go find out.
We'll explore how women overcome self-doubt, build genuine self-confidence, reinvent themselves, and develop the courage to pursue ambitious goals.
This isn't another firearms safety lecture. And you won't be listening to five motivational speeches telling you to believe in yourself.
We're having the conversations women rarely get to hear from the people they admire.
The conversations about what it really takes to develop confidence, make difficult decisions, overcome self-doubt, and become the kind of woman who trusts herself when it matters.
Before She Was Unshakable: What were these women like before they became the capable, accomplished people we know today? What challenged them, and what changed?
What Confidence Actually Costs: The setbacks, discipline, uncomfortable decisions, and hard-earned lessons that come with becoming genuinely capable.
What Happens When a Woman Becomes Armed? How taking responsibility for your personal safety can influence your independence, judgment, self-confidence, and approach to other challenges in life.
From Confidence to Leadership: What happens when you stop waiting to feel ready and start accepting responsibilities that demand more of you?
The Next Version of You: Why even accomplished women experience setbacks and plateaus—and what it takes to continue growing in skill, resilience, and self-trust.
Expect personal stories, candid opinions, a little humor, some uncomfortable truths, and moments that might make you reconsider what you're capable of.
And we're inviting you into the conversation, too.
Because you don't need to be a police officer, competitive shooter, or tactical professional to understand what it's like to question yourself, pursue something difficult, or wonder whether you're ready for the next challenge.
There's something remarkable about hearing a woman you admire admit that she once questioned whether she could do the very thing she's known for today.
It changes the way you look at her.
And sometimes, it changes the way you look at yourself.
At WGOAA, we believe that developing genuine confidence involves far more than telling yourself you can do something.
It's the judgment you develop. The responsibility you accept. The discipline you build. And the trust that comes from knowing you've put in the work.
For armed women, firearms education is one important part of that journey.
But the lessons learned through training, preparation, and personal responsibility often carry far beyond the range.
Woman, you have no idea just how capable you really are.
Come spend an evening with women who are still discovering that for themselves.
